If you read a lot of books; simply care about the words on the page and not amassing a library of tomes to show off for your friends, then the Kindle is for you. If you don't read a lot, you probably won't be able to justify the first generation pricing.
Overall, I'm completely satisfied with my Kindle. The battery lasts for over a solid week of reading with the evdo interface turned off. That's approximately 1/2 book per day. With the evdo interface long it only lasts a few days. No worries though as you can still use the dictionary, notes and other functions with evdo off. You only need the interface on when downloading or browsing the store.
The Kindle Store is pretty easy to use. I'd like a bit better interface but I'm a bit spoiled with using a web browser. Honestly, they do a great job making the interfaces pretty easy to use. With a bit faster screen refresh time, this thing would be almost perfect.
My only complaint about the kindle is one that's particular to how I hold it. Since I hold it in my left hand, I wish the page forward button was on the bottom of the left side rather than the top. Hopefully they will come out with programmable side buttons on the next generation to meet everyone's needs.
The best part about the Kindle and my deciding factor for buying it is that you can skip the trip to the book store just to pick up a book for $9.99. I hated making a trip for just one book so being able to download the book right away, save a bit of money on the title and not have to drive make the Kindle my new best friend.
I LOVE THIS KINGSTON DATA TRAVELER. IT WORKS GREAT AT KEEPING DATA I WORK ON AS I TRAVEL, AND AS I WRITE MY BOOKS. I DON'T LOSE DATA IF I SHOULD HAPPEN TO HIT A KEY OR A "MISPLACED" BUTTON NOW AND THEN AS I WRITE. IT IS TRULY A "LIFESAVER". I AM SO GLAD I BOUGHT IT AND THE SMALLER VERSION TOO.
After taking 500 plus photos in Mexico when I went to transfer images to a PC recieved an error that the files can't be read. This has never happened to me before with SanDisk. I am currently trying to use software to recover the images (which hopefully will work) and have learned a hard lesson, you get what you pay for.
I wish I would have discovered this a year ago when I first bought my Garmin Nuvi. I love it. Works great and never moves or slides around on the dashboard. Highly recommend.
First, this cable can transfer an HDMI audio and video signal from a source (I've tested with a Comcast HD DVR and a DVD player) to a TV.
Second, this cable is not shielded.
What this means, is that this cable can do most of what one costing 20 times as much can do: provide a clear digital connection. With a digital connection, the quality of the cable isn't very relevant, as you just need to get the signal across, not get it across in good shape. Therefore, a quality expensive cable is a waste of money.
The downside is that an unshielded cable does 2 things: accepts interference and causes interference. What this means is if you lay the HDMI cable too close to the power cable of the device or another cable carrying signal, it may pick up interference. A little interference, no big deal, the beauty of digital signals is that picture quality is the same. Enough interference, though, and the signal can't get through properly. I saw this happen with my HD cable box, and was able to cure it by moving the HDMI and power cable farther apart. Until I realized the problem, though, I was getting no picture.
The other problem with an unshielded cable is it causes interference. When my DVD player is turned on, it throws enough interference through the HDMI cable that my (also unshielded) OTA HD antenna cable receives interference. Turn the DVD off, and it's fine again.
Bottom line: if you're ok with having to carefully setup this cable so it doesn't receive too much interference from other sources, or send too much interference into other sources, this cable will do a great job and will be a steal. If you're not the DIY type, you might be frustrated with this cable. You'll get a better quality cable if you pay way more, but for me, this is well worth it.
I have used the Garmin 350 on a couple of trips and found it to be very helpful. Since I am alone, the "text to speach" feature is essential so I can watch the road and not stare at the screen. Having the street to turn read to you is very desireable.
My one complaint is the lack of suitable operating instructions both in the package as well as on the web. They are far too basic and do not help to set up and learn how to use the navigator. I neede help from the family to learn how to use the devise.
Contrary to what faffie says, the product DOES NOT COME WITH AN ADAPTER. I need to go the electronic store now to buy an adapter. This is exactly what I was trying to avoid by reading the reviews and by ordering online. Oh well.
Arrived as speedy as Amazon always delivers, and at a great price. However, the product I purchased this for only supports a maximum of 2gb, and it wouldnt even recognize the 4 gb card at all.
I purchased a Garmin Nuvi 660 in December 2007. There have been a few minor glitches, but for the most part I have been happy with the unit. I recently tried to update the maps from a Garmin DVD. Wiped out all the maps I had on the unit. Have been trying to get help from Garmin to fix this for more than 4 days already. Spent 40 minutes on the phone today and STILL have not spoken to a tech. So don't expect great service if you run into a problem!! Too bad they do not understand customer service.
I bought this GPS and while it works fine out of the box, it came with outdated maps. There is a nice road in the area that's existed for at least 4 years that is a quick way to get to the interstate and it wasn't on there. I got on Garmin's website to download an updated map. It took 4 HOURS to download the updated maps to my computer (I have DSL, not dialup!), and then when I tried to put the new maps on my Garmin it would not go. I spent 2 evenings after getting off from work and a total of another probably 8 hours trying to put the maps on and they not only didn't go, but the Garmin software deleted what was on it from the factory! I ended up with a nice, new GPS with NO maps whatsoever on it. Not very useful, huh? When I called Garmin to see what they would do they said that they would send me a disc of the maps or connect me with tech support to try to resolve the problem. By this time I had had enough of trying to fool around with it, so I ended up sending it back to Amazon for a refund and I've since bought a Tom Tom GPS. I won't buy a Garmin product again.
